Albino Baby Elephant Rescued After Being Trapped In Snare For 4 Days

Close to the border of Kruger National Park, South Africa, an elephant calf called Khanyisa was found trapped in the snare at a private reserve.

The pink skin elephant was found with severe lacerations to the back of her neck and 2 ears and her cheeks were cutting into her mouth because of the snare. She also had gaping holes in her mouth due to the open flesh that had been eaten by bad maggots.

Thankfully, a South African dedicated elephant orphanage called HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development) rescued Khanyisa just in time after being stuck there for 4 days.

She is now spending her time in her new home till she is completely recovered. Sue Howells said that the elephant is really sweet and friendly. She just wants to have a normal life just like any other elephant. She will be released to her herd once she is physically and emotionally recovered. Watch the video below.
