Donna Lochmann, Chief Life Saving Officer at Stray Rescue of St. Louis, was on a routine patrol when she stumbled upon a heartbreaking sight: a mother dog and her litter of puppies huddled together for warmth near an abandoned house. The frigid temperatures posed a serious threat to their survival.

Determined to save the family, Donna and her team sprang into action. They carefully set up a humane trap, baited with enticing treats, and waited patiently. The hungry mother dog, driven by instinct, quickly fell into the trap. With the mother secured, the team focused on rescuing her pups.
