This stray dog passed out on a tarp outside a subway station in California, surprising passersby

A Fateful Discovery: The Hairless Creature at the Metro

While a kind-hearted individual was heading to board a train at a California metro station, they noticed a tarp on the metro stairs and realized that a mysterious, hairless creature was sleeping on it.

Upon closer inspection, the Good Samaritan discovered that the strange-looking animal was actually a dog whose skin appeared sore and wrinkled.

The pup seemed accustomed to being ignored by people, so she didn’t even stir when she noticed the passerby.

Determined to help, the good human knew exactly who to call for assistance.

A Call for Help: Suzette Hall and the Rescue Team

The Good Samaritan reached out to Suzette Hall, a long-time rescuer and the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 in Irvine, California, urging her to come to the aid of the distressed dog.

Hall and her team of dedicated volunteers quickly formulated a plan to rescue the dog, who was later named Sadie Rose.

Arturo Flores, a volunteer who was closest to the metro station, immediately rushed to the scene.

It was nearly sunset when Flores arrived.

Despite Flores’s best efforts to secure Sadie Rose, she became frightened and fled to the drive-thru of a fast-food restaurant located across the street.

He diligently continued his search, but unfortunately, it seemed as though she had vanished without a trace.

The following morning, Hall hurried to the metro station to look for Sadie Rose, but she was nowhere to be found.

She maintained her vigilance, and after some time, Hall spotted the dog dragging her paws, a clear sign of exhaustion.

The experienced rescuer exited her car and carefully set several humane traps, ensuring not to frighten Sadie Rose.

Hall returned to her car, hoping that the enticing aroma of delicious treats would lure the hungry dog into the trap.

The hungry dog came very close to entering the trap on multiple occasions, but each time, she was startled by passersby and ran away.

Hall grew increasingly worried that Sadie Rose would be struck by a vehicle.

“Each time she would almost go into my trap, a person would show up and scare her away. And [then] she would go [cross] the street, so many times, almost getting hit by a car,” Hall shared on Facebook.

After being frightened so many times, the dog disappeared once again, leaving no trace. Hall tirelessly drove around the neighborhood, hoping to locate her, but her efforts were in vain.

Hours passed, but Hall remained determined. She couldn’t bear the thought of leaving Sadie Rose to spend another night on the dangerous streets.

The Rescue’s Triumph: Sadie Rose is Finally Safe

She decided to check the dog’s second favorite hiding place and drove to the fast-food restaurant, hoping to find her there.

Upon arriving, the rescuer was relieved to see Sadie Rose walking slowly. It was evident that the dog was running out of strength as she entered someone’s yard.

Hall was determined not to let the dog escape again. She quickly parked her car and secured the yard using baby gates.

The homeowner offered their assistance, and together, they cornered the dog and watched as she finally entered the trap.

Once safely inside the crate, Sadie Rose appeared relieved. After enduring a difficult life on the streets for so long, she finally felt safe. She seemed to sense that her arduous journey was finally over.

Hall rushed her to the veterinarian, where she was diagnosed with mange. She began receiving treatment but had to be kept isolated from other dogs.

Her caregivers provided her with exceptional care, showering her with attention and comfort.

As Sadie Rose’s condition improved, her affectionate and loving personality emerged, delighting everyone around her.

“She is absolutely beautiful and the most lovable girl I have ever met. She matters so much, and I won’t give up [on] her,” Hall shared.

After receiving treatment for over a month, the pup moved into a wonderful foster home, where she continues her healing process.

Her foster mom, Karen de Grandmaison, lavishes her with affection. Once she makes a full recovery and her fur grows back, Sadie Rose will be available for adoption.

Until then, she will continue to enjoy a wonderful time in her foster home, basking in her foster mom’s love and relaxing in the warmth of the sun.
