As she completed her errands and made her way back to her car in the parking lot, her attention was drawn to a lone, sad-looking dog roaming nearby.
A closer look revealed a poignant detail: the dog was clearly a recent mother, her physical condition indicating that she had been nursing puppies. Williamson’s heart immediately went out to the stray, and her instinct to help kicked in. Returning to the store, she purchased some food, her thoughts solely focused on providing nourishment to the visibly weary mother dog.

The location of the shed held a significant connection: it was coincidentally situated very close to the area where Williamson and her mother had rescued Tilly and her litter just days prior.
Without hesitation, Williamson and her mother immediately rushed to the location described in the Facebook comment, their hearts pounding with a mixture of hope and anticipation. They carefully approached the shed and peered underneath, their eyes scanning the dimly lit space. There, nestled together, they discovered three small puppies, their curious eyes peering back at the two women.
Although the tiny furbabies, later affectionately named Crosby, Nash, and Stills, were initially scared and hesitant, Williamson and her mother approached them with gentle voices and slow movements, patiently working to win their trust. Sensing the genuine kindness and lack of threat from their rescuers, the puppies eventually overcame their fear and cautiously emerged from their hiding spot beneath the shed.

“We think they were probably around 4 to 5 weeks old when I found them, and they were growing like WEEDS. They are going to be huge, fluffy boys,” Williamson affectionately added, marveling at their rapid growth and anticipating their future size.
To ensure the best possible future for Crosby, Nash, and Stills, Williamson reached out to Friends of Homeless Animals of RI (FOHA), a rescue organization that agreed to take over their care and find them their forever homes. The three adorable puppies were soon transported to foster homes in New England, where they eagerly awaited the day they would finally meet their permanent families and begin the best chapter of their young lives.
Meanwhile, the puppies’ mother remained on the streets. However, Williamson and her mother’s rescue mission was far from over. Their hearts were still with the brave stray mama who had been trying to protect her young. They visited her every day, bringing her food and patiently working to earn her trust, their ultimate goal being to bring her to safety as well and help her find the happiness and love she so deserved after a long and solitary life.
