Rescuers at Stray Rescue of St. Louis are feeling overwhelmed. Not only by the number of animals they have at their shelter but the number of animals who need help. But when they got word of an emaciated Doberman Pinscher wandering the streets they couldnโ€™t leave the dog to his fate.

โ€œAs I sit here in my office, I am feeling overwhelmed by the state of the world. I walked in today with not only 120 animals on-site, but an additional 14 in crates, and a clinic full of starved and gun shot victims,โ€ wrote the Stray Rescue of St. Louisโ€˜ team on their Facebook page. โ€œDonna just went out on a rescue to get this starved Doberman. We donโ€™t have room for this baby, but how in the world can we say no?โ€

Donna arrived to find the Doberman was very friendly. He came right up to her and wagged his tail. A Good Samaritan had called them when he saw the pitiful state the dog was in, and as Donna took him away the man called out, โ€œHope you all get him right.โ€

After lifting the dog into her car, Donna noted the dog was in โ€œsad shape.โ€

โ€œWeโ€™re hoping itโ€™s not cancer, but weโ€™ll run all the tests to see what he needs. He has a big, open tumor, upper respiratory, and no appetite,โ€ the rescue said.

Stray Rescue named him Albus Dumbledore and wrote, โ€œWeโ€™ve done a lot of testing and we are still waiting for results, but everything is pointing to cancer. Thankfully, he is eating now (and heโ€™s eating really good!).
He has to have small meals due to how malnourished he is, but heโ€™s doing great in that aspect. He loves to lay in the sun. We will do everything we can to give him the beautiful life he deserves.โ€
As Stray Rescue mentioned in their post, they really need help as their shelter is overflowing. โ€œI have the most amazing, strong, determined, loyal, fearless, and resilient staff on the planet and NO one can tell me otherwise.
But, we are all feeling pretty beat up and are asking for your HELP once again. If anyone can foster a dog or cat or feel like the time is finally right to adopt, please come!โ€ Visit www.strayrescue.org to help.
