A Rescue Mission
When the staff at The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County met Little Bear, a sweet, blind pup, they were immediately captivated by his charm. They knew he needed a loving home and reached out to Lee Asher, a renowned dog rescuer and founder of The Asher House.
Kelly Hill, a team member from The Asher House, traveled to Washington to bring Little Bear to Oregon to meet Asher. The moment Asher saw the adorable Chow Chow, he fell deeply in love.
A Match Made in Heaven
Little Bear’s resemblance to a Teddy bear was irresistible. Asher scooped him up, embracing him with warmth and affection. Little Bear nestled into Asher’s arms, his tiny paw clutching onto his sleeve.
From that moment, it was clear that Little Bear had found his forever home. Asher was overwhelmed with love for the gentle pup, promising him a life filled with care and affection.
Overcoming Challenges
Unfortunately, Little Bear’s blindness was a result of a painful condition called entropion. Asher’s heart ached to know that his new companion had suffered.
Despite his challenges, Little Bear’s spirit remained bright. Asher carried him with love and tenderness, assuring him that everything would be okay.
A New Beginning
Asher brought Little Bear home, introducing him to his canine siblings after a brief quarantine. The pack welcomed Little Bear with open paws, sniffing him curiously and offering friendly greetings.
Little Bear’s blindness didn’t hinder his ability to connect with his new family. He explored his surroundings confidently, guided by his keen senses and the support of his pack.
Asher’s love for Little Bear was evident in every interaction. He showered the pup with affection, carried him around, and tucked him in at night. Little Bear thrived in his new home, his heart filled with gratitude and love.
