Today is my birthday but I don’t have a single gift or a single greeting

Stella was a small, scruffy terrier with a heart as big as the world. Today was her birthday, a day she’d always looked forward to. Usually, her family would shower her with love and attention, but today, the house was eerily quiet.

She padded around the house, her tail drooping sadly. There were no balloons, no birthday cake, and no cheerful party hats. She sniffed the air, hoping for the familiar scent of her favorite treats, but there was nothing.

Stella went to the window and looked out at the sunny day. She watched the children playing in the park, their laughter filling the air. She longed to be among them, running and playing and feeling loved.

As the day wore on, Stella’s heart grew heavier. She curled up on her bed and sighed. She missed her family. She missed the feeling of being wanted and cherished. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she whimpered softly.

Just as she was about to give up hope, she heard a faint scratching sound at the door. She wagged her tail hopefully and trotted over to investigate. To her surprise, the door was slightly ajar. With a hopeful heart, she pushed it open and stepped outside.

There, standing on the porch, was her family, each holding a present and a big, bright smile. They called her name, and she barked excitedly, her tail wagging furiously. They rushed over and showered her with love and affection.

Stella realized that even though her day had started off so sadly, it had ended with a happy surprise. She was grateful for her family and for their love. As she ate her birthday cake and played with her new toys, she knew that she was truly loved and appreciated.
