Luki was a gaunt dog with a haunted look in his eyes. He had been rescued from a cruel owner who had subjected him to horrific abuse. Now, a stray, he wandered the streets, his body bearing the scars of his past. Today was his birthday, a day he had once dreamed of celebrating with a loving family. But as the day wore on, Luki felt a growing sense of loneliness.
He spent the day wandering aimlessly, his tail drooping low. He’d hoped for a kind stranger to offer him a pat on the head or a scrap of food, but the city seemed indifferent to his plight. He watched as people hurried by, their eyes fixed on their phones, oblivious to his presence.
As the sun began to set, Luki found himself in a small park. He curled up in a sheltered corner, his body trembling slightly in the cold. He closed his eyes and tried to imagine a life different from his own. A life filled with love, laughter, and birthday celebrations. But the image faded quickly, replaced by the harsh reality of his existence.
Just as Luki was about to give up hope, he heard a faint sound. He pricked up his ears and listened intently. The sound grew louder, and soon, he saw a small girl approaching. She was carrying a bag of treats and a toy.
“Hello there,” the girl said, kneeling down to pet Luki. “Are you hungry?”
Luki’s heart swelled with gratitude. He hadn’t been touched by a human in so long. The girl gave him a treat and played with him for a while. As they sat together in the park, Luki realized that even though he was a stray, he wasn’t completely alone. There were still kind people in the world who cared about animals like him.
